Recently, the delegation of the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) headed by Deputy Chief Executive Officer Mr. Chan Hian Lim came to the Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development in Agriculture, CAAS (IEDA) to have a meeting for the academic exchange and cooperation, which Dr. Gao Qingzhu, Deputy Director General of IEDA and the experts from the team of the Plant Environmental Engineering of Protected Agriculture attended.

Deputy Director General Gao Qingzhu extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation and gave an introduction to the IEDA in terms of research fields, research platforms and stations and international cooperation. Dr. Li Kun, on behalf of his team, introduced the plant factory under the IEDA and the R&D, demonstration and promotion of the greenhouse science and technology they have conducted. After introducing the food security situation and future agricultural planning in Singapore, Mr. Chan Hian Lim presented their technological needs in indoor agriculture and vertical agriculture. Both sides discussed the light environment parameters of a plant factory, energy-efficient cultivation technology and equipment, and the operation of production-oriented plant factory, and expressed their wish to carry out in-depth cooperation in plant factories and energy-efficient plant production in vertical agriculture.
