IEDA actively carries out international cooperation and exchanges of science and technology in agro-environment, pushes forward talent team building and discipline development, and continues to enhance the capacity of independent innovation. It is currently the national demonstration base for international scientific and technological cooperation in protected agriculture, and a subsidiary organization of the China-Japan Research and Development Center for Agricultural Technology, the China-Romania Joint Laboratory for Agricultural Cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, and the Belt and Road Institute of Scientific and Technological Innovation in Dryland Agriculture. IEDA has signed cooperation agreements with 12 foreign (international) research institutions such as Hokkaido University, and established professional joint laboratories with foreign (international) institutions of the United States, Japan and Australia, with more than ten experts serving as President of the International Association of Plastics in Agriculture and member of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Emission Factor Database. IEDA has led seven major domestic projects such as the NSFC Programs, the National Key Research and Development Program, and the CAAS International Agricultural Science Program, and more than 30 foreign (international) cooperation projects funded by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR); and published the Report on Carbon Neutral Tea Production in China together with FAO.
