On September 25-27, under the auspices of the national talent introduction demonstration bases project for 2024, Prof. Katsumi Ohyama and Prof. Yoshiaki Kitaya from Osaka Metropolitan University, Japan (OMU) visited the Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development in Agriculture (IEDA), CAAS, and gave academic reports.
The two visiting experts introduced in details the current situation of and the challenges facing protected agriculture in Japan, exchanged their views with IEDA researchers on facility energy conservation, environmental regulation, intelligent control and crop quality improvement, and explored new opportunities for cooperation. This visit has further enhanced the understanding and cooperation between IEDA and Japanese research institutes with respect to protected agriculture technologies in China and Japan, and will help promote the development of advanced protected horticulture technologies in China and their expansion into the international market.
Researchers and graduate students from IEDA's Team of Plant Environmental Engineering of Protected Agriculture and Team of Multifunctional Nanomaterials and Agricultural Applications participated in this academic exchange activity.
