On June 18, a six-member delegation from the Brazilian National Agricultural Research Company (Embrapa), led by Paulo Duarte, Officer of the Department of International Relations, visited IEDA to discuss cooperation in green and low-carbon agriculture.
Dr. Yao Zonglu, Deputy Director General of IEDA, extended a warm welcome to the delegation, and gave some basic information about IEDA, including areas of research and international cooperation. He proposed that both institutions could develop cooperation plans and recommendations on green and low-carbon agriculture under the CAAS-Embrapa partnership framework, and incorporate them into the agricultural cooperation agendas of both governments.
Experts from both sides introduced their respective research foundation in GHG emission measurement and low-carbon evaluation for crop and livestock production, and exchanged views on technologies and policies for low-carbon farming and animal husbandry, while exploring opportunities for future cooperation.
The meeting was attended by representatives and experts from the Department of Research Management and International Cooperation, Climate Change and Carbon Sequestration and Mitigation Team, and Environmental Science and Engineering Team for Animal Husbandry.
