On March 20, a delegation led by Mr. Robert Douglas Simpson, FAO Deputy Regional Representative for Asia and the Pacific and FAO Focal Point for Thai Affairs, visited the Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development in Agriculture (IEDA), Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS).
Professor Hao Weiping, Deputy Director-General of IEDA, extended a warm welcome to the delegation, gave a brief introduction to IEDA, and reviewed the progress in cooperation between the two sides. Professor Wang Yaosheng introduced China's progress in water and soil resources, climate-resilient dryland systems, smart irrigation agriculture, and water and soil resource management in clean watersheds. The delegation also visited relevant laboratories.
Mr. Hao Zhiqiang, IEDA Party Committee Secretary, Ms. Zhai Lin, Deputy Director General of the Department of International Cooperation of CAAS, and heads of IEDA departments such as the Department of Research Management and International Cooperation and the Biological Water Conservation and Dryland Agriculture Team also attended the meeting.
