On March 31, the event was organized by the Smart Meteorology and Agricultural Climate Resources Utilization Innovation Team of IEDA and chaired by Professor Xu Yinlong. IEDA Director General Yi Keke, Deputy Director General Hao Weiping, and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission Lu Meifang attended the event.
The Climate Resilient Agriculture Forum is a high-profile, influential, strategic and cutting-edge academic lecture series launched by IEDA, which “focuses on climate-resilient agriculture and steers toward low-carbon and green transition”. Three authors and consulting experts of the IPCC Seventh Assessment Report were invited to deliver presentations, exchanging insights on policy progress and frontier trends in global climate change adaptation, and sharing their latest research findings. Professor Chen Minpeng from Renmin University of China provided a comprehensive analysis of the current developments in international climate governance, focusing on global adaptation policy progress and knowledge gaps, while deeply examining the opportunities and challenges China faces in the field of climate adaptation. Professor He Xiaojia, also from Renmin University of China, highlighted international frontiers in climate change risk assessment and elaborated on five key reasons for the current focus on climate change risks.Professor Wu Jianguo from the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences offered a detailed interpretation of international frontiers in ecosystem adaptation to climate change, systematically presenting new insights and focal points in this area.
This lecture focused on the cutting-edge field of climate resilient agriculture, concentrating on the latest advancements in global climate adaptation policy evolution and risk assessment. The content was characterized by both strategic vision and academic depth. Participating experts and scholars engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanged ideas, fostering consensus through interaction and synergy through communication, creating an open, inclusive, and vibrant academic atmosphere. The inaugural lecture successfully established a high-level academic exchange platform, laying a solid foundation for regular and brand-oriented academic exchanges.
A total of over 60 participants, including researchers, faculty, and students from IEDA, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Beijing Institute of Technology, took part in the event.
